Celebrating 20 years on the Cape Fear

Cape Fear River Rowing Club (CFRRC) was formed in 1989 by a group of rowers who were looking to bring recreational rowing to the area. Our mission is to promote the sport of rowing on the Cape Fear River. The rowing community provides outreach, support and development to make the sport accessible to people of all ages and abilities. CFRRC's aim is to extend an enthusiastic welcome to all individuals with an interest in rowing.

Because CFRRC is a small organization we row for pleasure more than competition. As our club grows we can enter the competitive arena and participate in regional regattas.

If you know how to row contact the President to arrange an orientation to the boathouse. Join by sending in a signed waiver form and a check for your membership fee. You will be added to our member roster list and will begin to receive emails for rowing days/times.

If you want to learn how to row, check our list of courses.

Learn to Row

If you have never rowed before, we recommend that you learn first by taking sweep rowing classes. This will teach the basic form and techniques. After completing a sweep class, sculling instruction is offered for guest or club members, and scheduled by appointment.
